In Episode 3 – ‘iPads, Reverb & AES’, Tonebenders has its first guest sit in for the show. Shaun Farley joins regular hosts Rene, Dustin and Timothy with his memories of AES 2012 in San Francisco. Shaun is also a contributing editor at Designingsound.org and talks about the recent changes taking place on the site. We also interview composer and sound designer David Burns about how he uses his iPad in his daily audio workflow and Dustin checks in with a review of ValhallaDSP’s ValhallaShimmer reverb plug-in. All this and a spirited discussion on loudness specs.

Wow. I listened to all theee podcasts in one days....you guys make so an amazing, informative and amusing show, that it's a real pleasure to listen to you. Once again, another great show. Honestly, considering you're only three shows in I think you've really hit the right balance in terms of content. Great stuff! I was really happy to see you guys took on board my comment after the first show and the David Burns feature by Tim was a fantastic way to answer the question. Great to hear to what extent people are using iPads. I was kinda focused on the touch screen gestures but had overlooked the other obvious use as a separate window and custom buttons. Will be interesting to see if companies take up the idea of using the iPad as a dedicated space for plug-ins!

 

Anyway, congrats once again. As Shaun mentioned when talking about Designing Sound, I know there's a lot of time involved in putting together what you're doing. But I'm pretty sure all your listeners are fully appreciative when each Tonebenders episode comes out!
